Vadim Repin International Masterclass Scholarship Competition
As part of our 10th Anniversary Celebration we’re very excited to announce that the world renowned violinist Vadim Repin has graciously agreed to lead a masterclass for AFAF students this coming spring. The masterclass will be held in New York City and is intended for advanced students who will be selected based on submitted applications and audition videos. Four winners will be selected to participate in the masterclass to be held on March 9, 2013. At the conclusion of the masterclass, one participant will be selected by Mr. Repin to receive a $5,000 scholarship as well as a chance to perform at the AFAF 10th Anniversary Celebration Concert at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hal on May 18, 2013. Golden Era Of Romantic Music
With the Golden Era of Romantic Music International Competition the AFAF is celebrating one of the most representative composers of the Romantic tradition - Robert Schumann. The audition/performance repertoire for this competition is not limited to Schumann and can be drawn from the entire Romantic tradition. Auditions are open to instrumentalists (piano, strings, winds), vocalists and chamber ensembles. Winners receive scholarships to our summer program and get to perform at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. more ››
Our 10th Anniversary Season
As always, our regular season program offers the perfect opportunity to perform at some of the best concert halls in NYC, including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and Bruno Walter Auditorium At Lincoln Center. In-person auditions are scheduled to take place in MA, NY, NJ, CA, CT, Washington, DC and Bejing, China. Those unable to attend in-person auditions will be able to audition by mail. The in-person application deadline is December 7, 2012. Video audition applications have to be postmarked by February 7, 2013.. more ››
